Fresh off last night’s upset of Memphis in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off championship game, the Xavier Musketeers jumped to number 16 in the AP’s Top 25 Poll. Xavier, who last week was ranked at a surprisingly low number 29, joins fellow Jesuit Universities Gonzaga (no. 9), Marquette (no. 15) and Georgetown (no. 21) in this week’s Top 25.
For those scoring at home, that’s four Jesuit schools in the Top 25. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: The S.J.s can flat out play.
