Recently, I've been researching past sporting events with an eye toward writing about some of the lighter or at least odder moments that have occurred on a particular day. With my homework almost complete, I'm ready to launch a new, semi-regular WGASIG feature that looks at the historical and the hysterical, the idiotic and the ignominious, the curious and, oftentimes, the criminal incidents from the ridiculous world of professional sports. Hilarity ensues this afternoon with my next post. Spoiler alert: It's about facial hair and the opportunistic genius of Charles Finley.
